Also, what about Can I tell you about Asperger Syndrome?: A guide for friends and family, by Jude Welton, and (the somewhat controversial story of) The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, by Mark Haddon?

None of these books could have been written back in the 1980s, because the knowledge about AS which underpins them did not exist back then, but how and where exactly do they stand in a world where AS is submerged into Autism / ASD like with DSM-5?
