I am often alone or feeling lonely. So i thought i'd make a thread that people can update by saying what they want at any time.
Hi Malojian. At least I have my two cats to keep me company
What are their names? Hello Nexus
Hi Malojian!
Their names are Sweetie and Pepi. Sweetie is a big, active tabby, and cannot tolerate indoor life without walkies outside. I've often suspected she has some Bengal in her, apparently her owners had been trying to breed from the mother using her own kittens. Sweetie came about after the mother met a big black Tom... Pepi is a torbie, She only has one eye but she is a sensual cat who lives cuddles and treats
Our families dog was called Lady. And my grandparents dog was called Cindy. My other Grandparents had Cats but i've forgotten their names. This is going back decades to my boyhood.
His name is Peter......an unusual name for a dog but it suits him. He's a Romanian rescue
What's your Dogs name?
haha yes probably
Good morning Jamie. I like the fact that it's called Ark. Like Noah's Ark. In a years time you will resemble Dr Doolittle i think. *cheeky grin*
I will be adopting from Lincs Ark when the time is right:

This is what i've been doing since January. I grew up around cats but if i choose to adopt one it would be the first that is completely my responsibility.

My dog certainly has. He has a very calming effect on me and taking him for walks has kept me more active. He's very old and frail now so he's at my parents because their house is more suitable for him and they can look after him better between them.
That sounds like a plan. Something loving but also low maintenance would be ideal.

Pets can do a great deal to improve mental health. My partner when he came to visit conceded that the cats 'were doing me a great deal of good.'
I think i will just try and look after myself and leave the idea of a pet for when i'm more stable. I grew up around family pets though and i still think of those pets.
I think pets give so much to their owners, but they do need to be cared for, and then there will be vet bills. Where animals are introduced to prisoners, they can turn the lives of prisoners right around.
Cats are often more needy than they seem. That's a problem whenever going on holiday.
Hmm. Maybe i should get my own pet sometime? I worry i would not care for it properly because i have poor Mental Health as well as ASC. A Cat is probably one of the easier Pets to keep though?
