Daughter 16 - newly diagnosed. and needs to find like minded young people....how?

Hi,

My beautiful daughter was diagnosed on Monday with HFA. She is almost 17 and has just completed her first year at college. She has struggled all her school life and whilst she has NT friends, she has never had a lasting best friend. She suffers from social anxiety which prevents her from doing the things she really wants to do. 

Are there any social clubs (East Mids) for teens with HFA? I know that seems ironic given that social anxiety seems to be a common issue but my daughter is lonely and craves the company of others, but others that understand her.....

It's been a really rough ride for her to date and she is struggling with the diagnosis and I feel that if she could meet other people in her situation it would help so very much.
