Hello, I'm 57 and was diagnosed in June. I did it because I wanted to understand what had gone wrong with my life. I didn't know about burnout, so the diagnosis was to check if that was what was happening to me. It then explained the masking, trauma and other issues.

Then I had the hard part of sorting it all out and making sense of myself.

Sci-fi, time travel, thrillers, and humour. My current favourite authors are Shawn Inmon and RR Haywood.

Fellow late-diagnosis middle-ager reporting in.  I'm 57 too, though I was 54 when I finally got my diagnosis.  It was a validating moment for me: proof that I hadn't been "doing it for the attention" all those years and that I really had been struggling.  It was a life-changing moment that lifted a huge weight off my shoulders - a weight everyone else insisted I deserved to carry for being so weird/stupid/disruptive etc.

Hi PunkSwan I’m a 50 year old woman and I was diagnosed just a month ago! I am also hoping to find more people like me on this forum! It’s certainly an interesting place to be. If TheCatWoman soul mate is in the Amazon jungle I’m not joining her there! I want to find mine holding a pina colada on a balcony overlooking an Italian Lake

Hi and welcome, I like your thinking/feeling that there must be one person like you on each continent, I used to feel the same way about the notion of soul mates, if I have one, then they're probably somewhere in the Amazon jungles or somewhere else equally inaccessable.
