Hello all. I am 57, female, and was diagnosed autistic this July after four years, two re-referrals and two assessments. 

I look forward to being on this site. When I was a teenager and didn't know what was wrong, I thought, "There must be more like me scattered around the world. One on each continent maybe." Ha...

  • Hello, I'm 57 and was diagnosed in June. I did it because I wanted to understand what had gone wrong with my life. I didn't know about burnout, so the diagnosis was to check if that was what was happening to me. It then explained the masking, trauma and other issues.

    Then I had the hard part of sorting it all out and making sense of myself.
