Hi all, 1st time reaching out for advice. I have a 16 year old girl who struggles with emotional regulation. When she's having a meltdown, rationale goes out the window. Once regulating/calm again, she has NO recollection of her behaviour or emotions when heightened. Is this normal? TIA
Hi! Memory loss following meltdowns can certainly be normal:
"In the aftermath of a meltdown, many Autistic people report that they are unable to recall the details of what happened. This memory lapse, in itself, can be distressing and may contribute to subsequent anxiety."
