we here and just starting the journey as a mum of an autistic daughter. We are yet to be officially diagnosed, as I’m sure lots of people on here are. We have input from various agencies and I’m hopeful a diagnosis comes (relatively) soon.

You should be able to speak to the schools SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to inform them of the diagnostic wait and see if they can recommend any ways to speed this up.
They may also be able to assist with early stage support while you wait.
