  • Welcome.

    Nice idea for a thread.

I thought I'd follow your own format, so.

    Name: Debra

    5 facts:

    1. I was diagnosed with autism when I was 60 years old.

    2. I am losing the sight in my right eye through dry macular degeneration but have always been acutely myopic and have had cataract surgery.

    3. I was born February 8th.

    4. My interests vary from time to time, so I don't think I necessarily have one long-lasting 'special' interest, which I have read is often the case with females.

However, my most persistent interests are reading and photography.

    5. I don't own many books now as I gave them to a book shop.

Most of my novels are on kindle.

However, I have thousands of photographs, which I am slowly working through and deleting.

  • Hi Debra, you have a beautiful name :)

I love to read as well. Do you have a fave book? I'm reading Carrie by Stephen King at the moment.

  • Thank you.

I think I read a long time ago that Debra means 'bee' which is appropriate as I love bees.

That favourite book would take a lot of thought from me as I've read so many.

I saw Carrie when it 1st came out at the cinema.

There's one scene where I literally jumped off my seat but I can't tell you until you have read it.

    Enjoy Blush

  • Enchanted- perfect word for how that book makes me feel as well. I've read it so many times, it still enchants me :)

I wish my garden was as enchanting...

  • The Secret Garden

I read that as a child and was enchanted by it.

Ever since, I've wanted a walled garden but I only succeeded in having a 1/4 walled garden.

However, visiting walled gardens at stately homes always reminds me of that novel.

  • Yes you're right! Meaning is bee which is lovely. The meaning of my name is birthday and it's commonly given around Christmas which is true for me :)

I'll let you know how it goes. I've only just started but I know it's going to be great.

One of the best books I've read is The Secret Garden. I couldn't put it down once I started it.
