Hello!

Hi everyone!

I'm Gem, I'm 35 and I'm being assessed for autism next week. I've strongly suspected it for a long time now but of course as a grown woman it's very difficult to even get considered for assessment at all on the NHS, so I had to save up and go private. I figure it's worth it as either way I'll learn something about myself.

I've been reading Unmasking Autism by Devon Price this week, which I'm finding really helpful- many of the experiences and therapy-style exercises he shares are things I'm going to find useful even if it turns out I'm not autistic. That's also made me braver about introducing myself here, since it seems like I have a lot in common with diagnosed autistic folks regardless.

A little bit about me: I'm a goth (yes, still, at 35). I do a lot of fibre arts- knitting, crochet, etc. I live in South-East England with my partner and our dog, and they both have to put up with my endless routines Sweat smile

Nice to meet you all!
