Hi i have had a recent diagnosis, and I am a mother to a teenage daughter who was diagnosed today. This all came about as we're both struggling with our mental health.
Need advice
Is there any specialist mental health services that we can access, or support we're both in shock and coming to terms with it all.
I had this situation, me and my 15 yo were diagnosed within a fortnight of each other. What sort of advice do you want?
I was wondering if there is some specialist help we've been working with our local CAHMS but it doesn't seem to be helping in fact it seems to make things worse my daughter mental health is so bad and we're both going down hill.
Oh god it's a real case of finding your own way, they aren't very helpful. My daughter went to a private counsellor when she was 13, that helped her better than any of the official channels. I think this message board here is the best source of help tbh.
The private counsellor was a friend of my friend, so that helped, my daughter didn't feel like a statistic
