Hi,
I have a child who is potentially autistic. My child sits down for short periods of time and does the work given. However, when bored gets up and won't go back to the work.
My child has no issues with lights, sounds or people do it's not sensory issues causing this. However, my child has eating issues and sensory issues with food.
Will there ever be a time my child will stop running around and just sit down or does this last for life.
Any tips on how to get a child to sit down.
Yeah that sounds more like ADHD! A diagnosis would definitely help him, but I would advise against medication until he is older and his brain is fully developed.
Thank you for this. I looked through it but unfortunately she does none of these. Yes the eating definitely but the rest no.
I assumed when she had eating difficulties there would be other sensory issues present but there's not
Well it's like she purposely doesn't want to go near it. She's only at it a few minutes and up she gets and won't come back to sit downHowever, when she's interested she can do everything I give her in a matter of minutes with no difficulty.
I thought the same. She is waiting on an assessment yes
Take a look through this site and see if he's performing any of the other behaviours, sensory issues include feeling gravity and movement if they don't have enough.

Is the work too hard or too easy?
Sounds more like ADHD to me from your brief description. Is he waiting for assessment?
