Hi all i have joined this group today.
We are currently sorting out my sons EHCP. He is 15 years old and is autistic with speech & language issues. He is currently at a mainstream school and has 25 hours of one to one support. He will not attain the grades he needs to get into a sixth form.
We have found a couple of college courses for him for next year but they are only 15 hours per week. So he will have two days where he is not in college. I am not happy with this and feel that he needs support across five days a week. I have read somewhere today that potentially he could be homeschooled on those two days.
Has anyone had any experiences with regard to this scenario?
I would really appreciate any feedback.
Many thanks Bal
Kerri-Mod Hi Kerri many thanks for your reply. I have completed an online form to hopefully get some further ideas.
Thanks again Bal
Dear NAS70179,
There information about homeschooling and links to lots of other resources here which you might find useful: https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/education/education-choices/england/home-educating
If you need further advice or information, you might like to contact either our Education Rights Helpline or Autism Helpline. The links will take you to pages with the details.
I hope that is of help.
