Hi I am new here just found this site online. I’m just looking for any advice really as had such a hard day with my 6 year old son today! He is currently being assessed by cahms for asd but it’s taking so long. He was assessed by rainbow house at 3/4 and they said they didn’t think he was on the spectrum but it’s a lot more obvious now. He’s struggled in school since the beginning same at nursery. He’s only in school 2 and a half hours per day now as that’s all he can handle. The hardest part of it is that my husband and other kids just don’t understand or support me in trying to care for him they just think he is spoiled and the favourite which is not the case. He more or less needs my care at all times with everything really. I just wish I could find a club or friend for him. We have no other family or friends to help out so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I dont mind other kids being silly, but your husband needs a good kick up the *rse !
you need to make contacts in your area and I think thats your aim so
1. I think you should open a new thread in parents and carers with title
"Any autism support, parents clubs for primary school boys in < put county / city here "
in here
https://community.autism.org.uk/f/parents-and-carers
2. ring NAS below to see if they know of any groups in your area ----
3. also search facebook for "Autistic <your area> " and then "autism <your area>" there could be independent grups being set up that NAS dont know about
