Just saying hello

Hello~

So. I'm new here after accidentally stumbling across it whilst actually looking for something else. But I'm good to say hello, even if I am a bit shy. Hopefully I'll get more brave to join in discussions and stuff later.

A little bit about myself: I'm Russell, I'm 32, and I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome in 2016. I work full time as a Postman, and live alone and independently with little help. I have my ups and downs, but don't we all.

In my non-working time I'm usually found lazing on the sofa, reading and writing, playing games or watching/playing football. Also spend some time trying to help looking after mother in as much as I can do.

So that's me!

  • Hi, Russell. Welcome to the group :) I'm 25 and awaiting an autism diagnosis (it's been over a year of waiting now!). I also love reading and writing :) What kind of writing do you do? I'd love to write a novel someday (and have started quite a few), but poetry comes more naturally to me (probably because I can finish a poem within the window that my short attention span allows!).

  • Thank you~
My writing comes in fits and spurts, and I write bits of everything, short stories, poems, even scripts for the old text adventure style games sometimes. It's a little frustrating because I can't turn it on or off at will, the inspiration or motivation comes or goes with little logic or sense to it. But I enjoy having it when it does come. :)

  • I find that too - I just wish I could make the inspiration last longer Slight smile
