Hello I am hoping I can talk openly here amongst others on the spectrum in the hope I can find out about myself, and finding ways to cope better.

life has been difficult.

only recently diagnosed but quite old.

    I'm an engineer - not working due to ill health - super-nerd into anything techy.    I have great difficulties dealing with 'normal' people too.

    I notice you all have user names but I have a NAS number?

    Will I also be allowed to chose a name to use on here?

    I am not used to using forums.

    I am a single man, no family or relatives as they all didn’t like me very much.

    I struggle with social chit chat.

    I was recently diagnosed after my gp suggested my depression and anxiety may be because I was autistic.

    apparently he was right.

    I am not sure what I expect to learn by being here but my gp said he had heard it helps talking with others who are also like myself.

    sorry if I am not being friendly or talkative enough, I don’t know what to talk about?

    but thank you all I will read some of the postings to see if they mean anything to me.
