Taking medicine

Hi everyone ive just joined today hoping someone can help. My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with autism when she was 3. The problem is she wont take medicine. In july she ended up in hospital because of this. We have tried everything. We hide it in fluids but she only drinks milk and water so when she tastes it she refuses to drink. She is not on regular medication but like now she has tonsilitis and has antibiotics. Me and my husband are having to hold her down which is so distressing to her and us. In july she ended up with a canula in just to get the antibiotics in to her. Even if you say medicine she is absolutely terrified and runs. Ive begged doctors to help. Ive asked if theres tasteless medicine and explained my daughters fear but all i get is well if she dont take it she will end up in hospital. She has severe sensory issues with taste and smell. Please is there anyone that can help? Are there any social stories or books we can get? Or anything that can help us.

  • Will she drink banana milk shake? This is very good for hiding antibiotics in ( use with my daughter ) she would not drink it at first but I started gradually adding nesquick to her milk tiny bit at a time to get her used to it
