Why would the UK have the highest rates for autism?

It has the highest rates of all, apparently. The country I live in is 123 down the list.

North Korea as an example is among the lowest, but then there could be all sorts of unedifying reasons for that....

    Interesting discussion.

    I'm assuming it has something to do with diagnosis being better than others, although looking at NHS wait times that surprises me.

    Although, of course, other countries may not have free diagnosis available.

    Not having to pay for a diagnosis makes obtaining one much easier.
