Petitions Committee Launches Fireworks Inquiry

The Petitions Committee has launched an inquiry into fireworks law, including the case for a ban on public sale and use. It follows almost 750,000 people signing petitions expressing concern about fireworks through the petitions.parliament.uk site in the last three years.

There is no denying the use of fireworks is out of control and restrictions (preferably an outright ban, but I would settle for a ban of the private use of fireworks and licensed displays only at set dates such as Bonfire Night) are essential for the health and safety of people and animals, for the environment and for the safety of property.
