There's so much going on. Do you ever wonder what it's all about? What exactly is the end goal? Who's pulling the strings?

  • Basically it bridges past psychoanalytic and economic theories to present, explains what (IMO) is wrong with the world, summarises 2 more fundamental ways of experiencing the world - which, if they'd had the remaining pieces in neurology, they may have expressed autistic and neurotic. While they do conceive of new concepts and use a great deal of analogy, borrowing from maths, geography, physics, aesthetic and so on, they also follow the structure of logic and use well-known concepts in psychoanalysis. But basically, the neurotic is driven by this sense of guilt and indebtedness toward and created for one another. So a key motivation is keeping that guilt hidden, or empathising with others. This is how much of the world operates and economic systems are created from this. 

    I read this while having a full-time job, so once a week over a few years. No regrets! And I've been studying both their works ever since.
