housing

Hello, my name is nicky and i am an adult living with autism in milton keynes. i live independent with my longer term partner. we rent privately but we are getting to the point where we want ot leave, we have bad neighbours  and the house is degrading and we are just not happy here anymore.

how do we go go about social housing? is there a estate agents that specialise in people with autism and disability s?

we feel quite venrable in this place now want some where more safe ?

any advice?

We would suggest that you have a look at the information available on the Citizens Advice website relating to housing - https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/housing/ - which explains how to apply for council housing. It might also be a good idea to go to your local Citizens Advice and talk to an advisor there about what options might be available for you. Also at the link above, on the CA housing page, there is information about resolving disputes with neighbours and what your options and rights are if your neighbours are causing you issues.

  • Id visit my local council or there website should have portal and fill out online form for housing. you may have to visit your local office to view your ID and fincail information.

    they will assess your need for house, flat, bunglow

    I got piroity on medical grounds. by filling out a medical form  due to my autism and mental health and this covers physical health problems which there are different banding. most council operate choice base letting. which you can bid on your own behalf or some one at the council can. i did this me self bidding online portal by logging in.

    would advise also you private tenancy you would have to end that or wait till end may have to pay exit fees
