So cut me some slack because what I'm about to say is likely to annoy some people but it's not an accusation against any one as such. But don't you get tired with the threads here. 60% seems to be parents going 'my child X please help.' Even if you restrict yourself the autistic adults forum so much of it is so trivial and boring every day. I've started clasifing the difrent classes of boring threads I'm reading, they are so predictable.
Threads I miss seeing and that seem to be getting rarer:
I'm not saying everything has to be like a oxbridge debating sociaty but it would be nice if we could have a few more meaty discussions around here. I'm surely not the only one who feels that way?
I thought so too, at first.....now I'm not so sure.....it depends on how the organic structure of the thread builds itself. Autistic, me.
I didn't know you could speak French.
The gravelly tones of our Rod Stewart are most definitely, exquisite.
Exquisite.
Walking on eggshells is the worst part of being autistic. Wanting to find people you can really connect with but worrying if you open up too much you will be rejected or excluded. We can't see the social landmines like NTs can. And even if we could our RRPBIAs (Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities) often compel us to run into the mine field. If we can't dispence with the eggshell walking, which is so bad for our mental health, in a place spicificly for autistic people then where can we.
Freedom of speech. Donald Trump for instance or Putin's lies? This requires deep psychology
Whatever. I'm done.
There are more uplifting and constructive threads to focus on.
This one was always going to be a visit to energy vampire land.
I have been foolish to linger so long.
So long.
Debate is offencive? Are you not falling into the trap of conflating debate and name calling? I admit we've had too much name calling and other bad behavior but there are respectful ways to debate even the most controversial topcs don't you agree? Can't throw the baby out with the bath water just because people tempers get out of hand sometimes.
My point is from what I understand truth social is just twitter but more so. No real debate just a load of echo chambers.
I disagree. We all must architect our futures. At the deliveroo of life we can't just say 'I'm fine with what everyone else wants' and then be suprised that we have nothing to eat. The strugel of trying to build the world you want is not meanngless. With hard work you'd be amazed how many of our dreams can be realised. Especially if we work together. Of course it may be one mans dream of anothers nightmare. But with regards to a world with out debate or controvercy belive me no matter how much some people might think that would be paradice if they ever actually get it they will live to regret it.
Peter said:In an argument some one must be wrong and there must be a right answer.
Yes I understand that but the types of discussions you are referring to are offensive. No one deserves to be discriminated against or rejected particularly on a forum for our neurokin who face such things on a daily basis in the offline spaces. All of us deserve to feel safe in a space literally designed for us.
Not the way you would want to get got, no,
but
I know the zeitgeist: the Asuras.
Truth is offencive to those for whom it is inconvenient. Offence is not the overriding factor here. In an argument some one must be wrong and there must be a right answer. The refining process of pulling the truth out of the white hot heat of argument can't be put on hold because it makes people uncomfortable to have their preconseptions chalenged.
You realy don't get me at all.
I still feel that knowing what YOU mean by them, in your own words- know thyself - will clear things up and force you to see a more specific set of values you are trying to express with your words.. "look it up." does not clarify. It's sullies.
Hay, why not.
HA,HA!!
I thought that the humour (which I detected) was that it was a cockatoo, I didn't see the actual second image at all).
Better yet ( I may as as well laugh at my own limitations) I STILL didn't see the actual second image, after it had been highlighted, and was thinking how clever and inventive Nas 92471 was for being able to see that second image.
NOW I get the joke, as intended.... I'll remember this moment next time I find other peoples "inabilty to see the bleeding obvious" annoying. Hopefully, It depends on HOW annoying, I guess...
Thanks altho it's kind of more fun if you don't have the answer given to you! Edit: thank you for removing the answer
Ohhhhh - very good! Thanks :-)

Oh, is this one of those optical illusions? Drat, all I can see is the parrot!
