Employing a PA

I'm seeking to employ a personal assistant (carer), but I feel hugely overwhelmed by the process.

Anxiety of contracts, sick pay, holiday pay, pension etc

That's without interviews and someone caring for me that I don't know. I had 3 emails yesterday from prospective applicants, and even that felt overwhelming and panic inducing.

I'm considering employing someone I know. But that  still involves contracts.

Has anyone experienced this, and how have you managed the process?

I feel panicked now.

  • I suggest that you seek advice from Citizens Advice.

You could also contact one of the many care agencies to see how much they charge for care - then they do all the paperwork.

What is suitable and by which means will depend upon what sort of  'care' you require.

    All the best.
