Six years ago before I met my partner in person we were talking online for several weeks. In those weeks I got a sense that he was autistic. I even asked him. But here I am six years later in 2024, and I'm the one who gets diagnosed with autism at the age of 38. I wasn't even aware I could be autistic until about 3 years ago when a psychologist said I needed to be assessed.
I think its common for NDs to make friends with other NDs. Most (if not all) my friends are either autistic or ADHD and that was before I knew I was autistic
He is not autistic, or at least he isn't diagnosed, I just found it odd that I would think he was. I just connect with him differently.
