You have just triggered a memory.

When I was young and at home my mum always listened to Radio 2 for the 'old fashioned' music and this is the sort of things they played plus some stuff from the 1940s and 1930s.

Because the music wasn't up-to-date and I was young I didn't like it but I can appreciate it better now.

I actually like the dance band music of the 20s and 30s (my grandad was a lead violinist and bandleader and had his own BBC music programme on the radio).
