Hi I'm new around these parts but wanted to pick the brains of the hivemind about returning to college ( aged 22, finished 1 college course last year and want to enrol on a related one this Sept) I have a EHC plan but have been told the only options available to me this year are 'supported internship' (which will end the EHC) or wait a year and try again next year to join the course I want which I'm told isn't running from this Sept.
I'm trying to find out what happens to my EHC if I am not in education for a year? Will it lapse? I'm guessing it will but I'm not getting any straight answers from anyone and I feel like everyone is being intentionally cagey about it which is worrying me
Any advice gratefully received!
I used to work in learning support at a college. I am not an expert, but my understanding would be that yes, your EHCP would end. Would a different course be an option in the meantime?
