Hi. I just put a lot of time and thought into a lengthy post in the ‘Isolation and Faith’ thread, only for it to mysteriously disappear. It was respectful, measured, and in no way offensive. But it’s vanished. It’s quite upsetting as I was certainly observing the etiquette and spirit of the thread in what I said, and I simply couldn’t begin climbing that mountain again. I felt I’d chosen my words well and simply couldn’t recreate them, nor - surely-should I have to? Chloe Mod - sorry, yours is the only mod name I can ever quickly find, I don’t mean to pester- has a glitch consumed it? Or was it withdrawn despite being basically a nice and well meaning post? If so, was it reported? And why? I’m confused.
I also noticed one of my replies went puff just very recently because I had to stop and go back to edit typos "too frequently" or something.
Oh....I thought you knew what "it" is......I call it our Overlord and is basically an active automated database that auto-kidnaps our words that it doesn't like. Dystopian.
I think that thread just got "top heavy and fell over".....aka broke because it became too long.
Yes mate.....when weird unintended text formats occur, our Askimet Overlord smites our thoughts and words. It's like a beta version hybrid of Minority Report + 1984 with Last Tango In Paris lubrication.
Personally, I love silicon and code...beats those pesky humans every time. . . . . N O T !!
I've just discovered what the elusive 'Akismet' is that keeps reporting ie removing our posts:
https://akismet.com/privacy/
I had the exact same situation the other day – my comment was marked as spam/abuse and I didn't understand how it was either of those things. It really got me anxious! I appealed it and my comment got put back up. Looks like there's some kind of glitch happening.
I think Number discovered that quoting another person 4 times in a single reply will get you caught by spam bot.I have also noticed that if you make a post (as in start a discussion) but then try to edit it too many times in short sucession that also gets caught.Which is a pain for me because I frequently have to go back and edit things for typos. That actually happened to one of my posts earlier and is why a duplicate of it now exists.Speaking of which I better go bump it since it's a PSA.
Thanks Eunice! It definitely disappeared again earlier but then I got a second and faster reprieve. Much appreciate your help.
Dear Shardovan,
Thank you for your message. Are you talking about your comments on this post? https://community.autism.org.uk/f/health-and-wellbeing/31541/how-many-people-here-are-both-isolated-and-alone-and-also-have-the-christian-faith?ReplySortBy=CreatedDate&ReplySortOrder=Descending
I can see your detailed comment is still there. If you have difficulties finding it, you may click 'newest' under the replies section and scroll down to your comments posted two days ago.
Thank you. I hope this helps!
Best wishes,
Eunice Mod
Yes, I got a new 'flagged as abusive', even though all I did was try to change a misspelling.
if thats the case wouldnt this reply be auto-flagged by now by it? lol
if the mods deleted it they would have sent you a notification or email that they had done.if they havent done that then perhaps your internet cut out as you sent it or something? then failed to send as you was offline when it sent?
But yes, just as an FYI, be careful about any post-restoration tinkering/edits, it will see the false threat all over again.
I got my post back, but then made a silly mistake. I wanted to correct a spelling error and the whole disappearance scenario happened again. I should have seen that coming! What an eejit

Yes. Clare Mod explained to me that they don't have a huge amount of control over the Spamometer, but do from time to time ask it to work better to remove the spam, which has the unfortunate side-effect of removing our posts too.

Correct. It drives me nutty, especially when my 'Paranormal' thread disappeared.
The reason for that going though was explained properly later + it was returned.
It's very frustrating.
I did start reading your post before it was removed...

Same thread.
Just happened to me as well.
I can no longer post on the 'Share songs or music' thread...perhaps a glitch or maybe it's to prevent me sharing songs because i have a bad taste in music haha
I think this is part of the reason for poor Debbie's current hibernation. She seems to have had worse luck with it than most, though it looks like it gets us all at some point!
