Hi so I was wondering about whether I should start a blog about autism and trying to raise awareness. It's mainly to help me process but it would be nice for people to read it and make a bit of profit perhaps.
However, the main question is would this be something people would be interested in reading? I want your opinions and any ideas (stuff you would read about).
Thanks guys!
Do I need to post anything else?
I'm growing onions too
create a facebook account and place a url to your blog in it
repeat with twitter, snapchat, whatapps
Every time I see this thread I always see: Need Onions.
Any tips on how to use social media would be great as I have no clue how to use them.
I mainly follow other autistic people on Facebook or Twitter so if you want more people to read it you will need to use social media to link to your blog posts. Sounds like a good idea from a processing point of view definitely.
I haven't set it up yet :)
hey Katrina i actually have some slides on autism that i have presented before. If your blog site is unblocked by my school, then we should be okie-dokie. Also, maybe we can discuss autistic celebrities, liike Tim Burton or Dan Aykroyd...
I recommend getting the blog going and then educate yourself on social media as you go.

Welcome to the thyroid club! Lol
I on 2.5 grains of Erfa Thyroid now,Thyroxine useless for over 10 yrs, once i saw same 'honorary' professor(who diagnosed me originally in 2003),a few yrs back-he just kept upping Thyroxine til on 225mcg,and TSH was still high, and felt jittery. Gradually i titrated it back to 150mcg and titrated it. Last TSH was high, and T3 slightly high. Now have what looks like cycling Cushings Disease,if not my pituitary or hypothalmus is definately messed up(tho Cushings Team wont accept that,MRI for tumour next month!).
That's exactly what happened to me with hypothyroidism!
I'm good at not listening to GP's. If they had any knowledge of quite common things, they may be listened to. My GP hasn't even heard of meds i get prescribed privately for Hypothyroidism(NHS not reading NICE guidelines and understanding it!),yet original treatment since 1890's!
The good thing is, you get to make up your own strategy about how you do this. You can also change your mind later. All you need is a starting place, and you can go from there.
It's sometimes easier to see what is the best thing to do once you've started, rather than try to imagine it all and decide everything beforehand. Yet, I often get stuck in the latter and never start... probably due to being on the spectrum and loving control and plans, etc! The first step forward is the hardest, but the smaller I make that first step, the easier it is.

The next question would be do I use my own name or not. Also a lot of people say to use social media to get more people reading but i don't know how to use social media.
This is me too. I would love to be good at not listening to people! Even having a pseudonym, being anonymous, doesn't prevent it. I'd love to write and share my writing again. The sharing brought as much joy as it did huge panics and melt downs.
Lol Well good, sounds like will be more positive than i could imagine if was me setting it up.
I'm very good at not listening to people.
I think most of those opinions you don't agree with are those people without autism.
