Online forums - do people think you're a troll?

I've been banned from a few forums in my lifetime (Mumsnet, for example).

Every time has shocked and upset me.

People assume I'm a troll and I'm left with that familiar feeling: "I don't understand what I've done wrong; am I living in a parallel universe to everyone else?"

The rejection stings and baffles me.

Does this happen to anyone else?

  • Happens to me also. The only thing we can do is press on and try another website.

  • I can relate.....but also to in person situations more so....Ie....the day to day interactions!

Ive now had one of my lesbian neighbours verbally attack me 1 week ago infront of many people....

Long story...But ive LITERALLY done nothing wrong and even her partner and son who was there(i think hes in his 30s) even told her to apologise..

Im convinced i give off some kind of negative vibe to certain people......its bizarre!.....it makes me second guess myself for weeks....but i know  totally , im not in the wrong, yet somehow i receive very harsh attacks...

  • No not for me. This is the only online platform I use so I've never been banned before. I mostly stay away from online forums and social media because most sites like those are just full of immature children and adults who use the privacy of the internet to act out and intentionally hurt others, which has put me off of such sites.

    I haven't been banned on a forum as I don't use them.

  • Shame it got deleted. It would have been an interesting read. But no, it certainly was not me.

  • That person was a troll - and they had a very offensive public self-destruction so the thread got deleted.

  • I can't recall doing that. I've searched this forum for the word 'mumsnet' and the only post that's mine is this one.

  • Yep - I always get banned!

It is because NTs have had their entire reality hacked - since about 2012... That's when the internet took a nose dive. The best days of the web were before that time which is about when the AI algorithm bias took over.

  • Have you been here before?      We had a thread a few months ago that read exactly like this........    Even mentioning getting kicked off mumsnet.......

BTW - I'm Aspie with eidetic memory.......
