Has anyone tried a weighted blanket designed to promote good sleep? What was your experience?
Thank you in advance
I haven't personally but I have a friend who swears by it.
Certainly I sleep more deeply when I have 2 or 3 duvets on me so I imagine it would be of benefit.
The research is very unclear and obviously those selling them will bias the reports.
Just like many things in life: no guarantees , some like them and others feel they are a waste of money. Some suppliers offer a money back guarantee if you find it unhelpful
This one has the top rating on Amazon 97% give 5 stars even though not the best selling
There are not any good trials showing benefits in autism and those done were on children, but the Amazon reviews you posted seem very happy with that product
I got one this week in the autumn sale from Sumo. 2 nights in so far so good. I feel very relaxed when I'm under it. It could do with being a bit heavier though. I used it on the sofa last night and I felt calm. I have noticed, instead of having anxiety dreams, it's the same content of dream but a different outcome where I'm in control of the situation. The one I got was also made of cooling fabric which has been great. I usually love the weight of a duvet but get too hot.
It hasn't worked miracles but I have noticed a difference.
Never tried one, but I imagine I'd wake during the night feeling trapped or like I'm suffocating. I need freedom to sprawl and can't tolerate anything getting in the way.
I often double up my duvet because I like the weight so it seems logical that it could work, thank you for commenting.
Thank you for taking the time to provide those links Dave, I am a scientific sort so I like the research references - as you say we can't rely on vendors to offer impartial reports.
Great that it has been beneficial so far, have a fab weekend
great that you know yourself so well, I definitely lean more on the side of being cosy and 'held'. Enjoy your sprawling :-)
I have ordered one, I'll let you know how I get on! Delivery date is 23rd October!
I have two duvets on the bed. The bottom one is feather. It wraps around me then.
