NEW BARBIE RANGE INCLUDES DOLLS THAT USE WHEELCHAIRS AND HAVE PROSTHETIC LIMBS

Interesting idea? Would a hidden disability // autistic Barbie be an option? Also, being made of some different types of plastic and vinyl - a meltdown could be even more of a hazard?
As an autistic woman (self-diagnosed.. first assessment in less than 4 weeks) she also decide to be spending less of her time keeping her hair that blond, or obsessed with fashion and make up. Her relationship with Ken may also look very different from an ND perspective?
Thoughts?
A Barbie Dr Who might be more like it....
As with Aspies, it would probably be difficult to tell. Maybe she would have a preference for being on her own in the toy box.
This post has made me chuckle, a lot! What would the lyrics to that Barbie girl song be like for autistic Barbie? Anyone wish to humour me and re-write them as such?
I'm more of a Ken doll - I just get left in the corner and not played with. But I'd be totally happy being left alone and not touched by sticky fingers.
UPDATE: According to the guardian newspaper they have just bought out a science geek barbie range... maybe we're almost there!
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/feb/11/meet-entomologist-barbie-still-white-pink-and-unattainably-thin
"The new range, in collaboration with National Geographic, sees Barbie get in touch with her scientific side: there is an astrophysicist Barbie, a polar marine biologist Barbie, and my particular favourite, wildlife conservationist Barbie (because nothing quite says “save the planet” like a bit of mass-produced plastic).
The Barbie and National Geographic product line features career dolls and playsets highlighting occupations in which women are underrepresented including Wildlife Conservationist, Astrophysicist, Polar Marine Biologist, Wildlife Photojournalist and Entomologist. "
I don't think they mean you, @Plastic
...... am I a "career doll"??????????
She might come with a range of wellington boot accessories?
Autistic Barbie ~ don’t touch me!!! Lol! This could get fun ~ do not take out of box. In fact, wait, it doesn’t come in a box
They do special Barbies every now & then - about 15 years ago they produced Evening Star Princess Barbie that was widely accepted as Barbie with Albinism due to the bright white hair, extremely pale skin and blue eyes.
Yes - ex-Barbie collector.....
