I am wondering if anyone has any advice about how to move forward following the diagnosis. I haven't really processed it properly yet but I can feel a fairly significant shift in what I have always known to be 'self'. I'm worried that I am potentially leaning too much into the diagnosis, if that makes sense.
Also, I am based in London. If anyone knows of any groups that I could join, I would be really appreciative.
It might be worth looking on Meetup for any autism focused groups in your area. Good luck.
if you are from the area there are other meet ups run by other organisation in nearby towns,

Hi Touay. It is part of www.meetup.com
A west midlands group? who is that run by and who can join?
Hi there are zoom meetings if you are interested. There is on by a West Midlands group but some people from London join. There are also international zoom meetings which I have found good. Can give you links if you want.
It is very common to feel much more autistic following a diagnosis. We put massive effort (sometime subconsciously) for all our live into looking 'normal'. Once we have our diagnosis, we free ourselves of some of that weight and the autism shines through. embrace it!
I hope it goes well for you.
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much!
Hi!
There is a brilliant autistic led charity (based in London) called Autistic Inclusive Meets which runs social groups for adults:
