Hello! I'm 35, female, and have just been diagnosed with Autism 1 (last week)

I am wondering if anyone has any advice about how to move forward following the diagnosis. I haven't really processed it properly yet but I can feel a fairly significant shift in what I have always known to be 'self'. I'm worried that I am potentially leaning too much into the diagnosis, if that makes sense.

Also, I am based in London. If anyone knows of any groups that I could join, I would be really appreciative.

  • It is very common to feel much more autistic following a diagnosis. We put massive effort (sometime subconsciously) for all our live into looking 'normal'.  Once we have our diagnosis, we free ourselves of some of that weight and the autism shines through.  embrace it!

I hope it goes well for you.
