Finding it hard to get a passprt photo done amyone have any ideas?
My son needed to get photo id for voting. He is Autistic and refuseds to have his picture taken for years. We went to a chemist, their machine not working so they sent us to another branch and the same result. But a nice lady said to try the printers shop near by. A really nice older lady told him to sit, I explained about his Autism, and he can't stop smiling because he's nervous. She said it will be ok and because I'm watching him that's why he's smiling! She was right less than 2 minutes and his photo was done!!
I hope this helps someone
I see your post is from over 5 years ago, but I hope you still find this response helpful. When it comes to getting passport photos for individuals with special needs like autism, it's essential to find understanding professionals who can accommodate unique requirements.Additionally, technology and services may have advanced since your original post. There are companies that now offer innovative identity validation services, and they may have solutions or recommendations for obtaining passport photos in unique situations like yours.
Rereaching out to local photographers or studios with experience in working with individuals with special needs could be beneficial. They may have developed techniques or accommodations over the years to ensure a comfortable and successful photo session.
If dont have solid white background then buy some A3 paper and place on a wall. You can find A3 paper at amazon. It just has to cover over the face and just about below the top of his shoulders.Yes A3 and make shore it not A4. Also see if can get other people family and friends to show him there passport photos to him.
If you have a disability that means you can’t meet the passport photo requirements, you should:
https://www.gov.uk/passport-services-disabled
Phone passport office 0300 222 0000 for some advice.
See if can take the photo at home.https://www.gov.uk/photos-for-passports/rules-for-digital-photosNow the issue becomes if it a first passport as they needed to printed. You will have to find somewhere they will take photo that taken at home (solid white back background) from you phone and printout for you to passport size rules. It not recomended that you printed this at home as passport office most likey will not allow that print out.
How about use a photo of him that you already have and just ask if you can have that printed onto the card
Asda have a photo service and they’re used to taking photos of kids as well so it might be worth trying there.
You could also maybe get him a little toy or something as well to keep him calm if that would help although the woman in our Asda has a bunch of toys and teddies anyway that she uses with the kids.
Post office, or jessops and other photo shops the even offer a service guaranteed that the picture will be accepted for a passport
Lots of post offices do photos for driving licences and passports in the shop - no booth - you just stand in front of a coloured curtain and they take your picture.
Have a look on google. There are places that will take passport photos for you. Or even a friendly photographer.
I did but it didmt work he was just getting very angrey i was womdering if there was a place that i could take him ti get it done its hard work in them tiny photo booths
Hello @NAS350612, Try to explain to your son what is going to happen in good detail and try to award him after it's done with something he'd like under £30 or so. hope this helps
