What are the TV shows you watch when you're feeling down and you don't feel like trying something new? What are your go to favourites?
I often like to stick on The Simpsons, Dragon Ball, Spongebob Squarepants, South Park and Rick and Morty

I think Joan Hickson was the best Miss Marple, I know Agatha Chrisite told her she'd be a good Miss Marple when she was old enough. Likewise I think Jeremy Brett was the best Sherlock Holmes, I'm not counting the Benedict Cumberbatch one as it was a whole new retelling.
Definitely! She portrayed Miss Marple as I imagine she should be.
Margaret Rutherford was good but not at all like Miss Marple in the books.
I enjoyed watching the original series of All Creatures Great and Small on I player.
As a teenager I bought the first four books which I read several times. Then when the last two came out I borrowed them from the library. The first series did seem similar to the books so I didn't want to see the more recent one.
The latest All Creature’s series did have a lot that wasn’t in the books but I didn’t mind that because the characters were strong. I suppose they run out of animal events so have to improvise. The only character casting I couldn’t accept was Mrs Pumphrey. The previous Mrs Pumphrey was much sillier and more like she came across in the books.
I haven’t seen Jeeves & Wooster. Is it worth watching? It was first shown on TV when I was busy with my (now ex) husband and time got in the way. I remember seeing some of the old Wodehouse episodes but can’t remember much about what happened, although Wooster was memorable.
Some of the old TV series are so comforting to watch, even for the umpteenth time, because they don’t require concentration and it doesn’t matter if I’m preoccupied and miss sections. They are just a familiar presence.
Margaret Rutherford was to comical to be Miss Marple and I didn't like the other series Marple either as I thought they messed around with the stories to much. Like I didn't like the recent remake of All Creatures Great and Small, a lot of that wasn't in the books and I thought that was very well cast. Although nothing like the characters in the books, I thought Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie were brilliant in Jeeves and Wooster, although Hugh Laurie was about the right age to be Bertie Wooster and he managed the total boggle-eyed expressions so well.
