Comfort TV

What are the TV shows you watch when you're feeling down and you don't feel like trying something new? What are your go to favourites?

I often like to stick on The Simpsons, Dragon Ball, Spongebob Squarepants, South Park and Rick and Morty

Parents
  • Miss Marple. The format is predictable, even if the plot isn’t. Truly comforting.

  • I think Joan Hickson was the best Miss Marple, I know Agatha Chrisite told her she'd be a good Miss Marple when she was old enough. Likewise I think Jeremy Brett was the best Sherlock Holmes, I'm not counting the Benedict Cumberbatch one as it was a whole new retelling.

  • Definitely! She portrayed Miss Marple as I imagine she should be.

Margaret Rutherford was good but not at all like Miss Marple in the books.

  • I've complained twice to the BBC about their sports coverage and how it interupts other programs but they say people like sport and they're not going to change i

When I asked PBS America why they showed few documentaries that were not about war - they said the majority of listeners /sponsors wanted this! So why doesn't BBC listen to everyone who pays the license fee? They've started thanking license payers, so perhaps there view is slowly changing. There are different BBC's each with slightly different content - it would be easy to dedicate one to sport - 'BBC Sport'. Try writing again,  and I'll write and add my voice too.

  • And Wimbledon too now, its wall to wall sport on every channel, if we're lucky we might get the news at 6pm or half and hour of another program we might want to watch. Gardeners world was advertised last friday, but instead we got a recording of tennis, great just what I wanted, 2 sweaty women grunting whilst hitting balls, instead of some nice calming gardening. BBC4's full of repeats as are all the other channels on freeview. I don't want channel 5 nightly offerings of police chases or royal scandal stories either.

I really don't think its either fair or proportionate to have so much sport, even the news when its on seems to be half sport, is there nothing else happening in the world? I've complained twice to the BBC about their sports coverage and how it interupts other programs but they say people like sport and they're not going to change it. Then they wonder why people stop watching in favour of streaming services
