Play Games, watch TV, go for a walk when it's not raining, Housework or in my case Flatwork lol. Socialise online, and attend events in the Retirement Complex that I live in. Tend to my plants again when it's not raining and take day trips on the buses again when it's not raining.
a bit far to come and mow the lawn, lol
Ha ha! Well, they ought to bake you lots of goodies then post them out.
My Mum still does most of the hoovering and dusting and polishing, I cook and she washes up, but she's nearly 92 and can't do the heavy stuff, so I do that. I like doing my garden, I don't want anyone else doing it and there's only one other person who can walk Fearn, she's to strong for Mum to feel safe taking her anywhere and she's very protective of her Nanny. I'm also the only driver, the rest of the family live in Manchester, which is a bit far to come and mow the lawn, lol
Don't your family help with chores? They ought to!
awe, now I'm wanting chickens as pets!!
Chickens are quite rewarding, they do take a bit of space, as they need room to roam and scratch about and htey do make a bit of mess. They need a coop and proper food, but they give an egg a day each, well only one of mine does now, they were rescues and I thik one of them is a "lady of a certain age". I dont' think chickens have a menopause as such, but they do stop laying when they get older.
They are funny creatures though, each with her own personality, they quite like a bed time cuddle too and if you're out with them they will come and sit on your lap and they "gossip" mine give a very different sort of Ooohh when I give them some peas or sweetcorn than they do if do anything else.
I've always wondered what it's like to have chickens guessing it's easy to get eggs from than buying at supermarket!
Chickens, dogs cats and humans all need feeding, I've got shoppig and cooking to do, dog walking, driving people to various appointments, then there are thigs that I like to do, like read, watch tv or do my ancestry research. Oh and the garden too.
'day book' - even small tasks
that sounds good idea
it's a mystery i wonder if we'll ever find the answer out
I don't have a garden but I know what you mean about making a list. Lists feel productive even if I'm not actually being productive.
Lovely idea! Spontaneous craft projecs are fun. I made a canopy for my tiny growhouse on Friday, from a scrap of material left from the veranda canopy. I keep going to look at it -why not . I do the same after completing any task. We spent far too little time enjoying what we've created.
I don't know. I have ADHD too and I think that's where some of the boredom issue comes in. I also struggle with housework so I guess I do less of that than other people. I'm not very social so that doesn't take up much of my time. But other than that I have no idea what other people do to be so busy.
Other times I cannot find anything that will shift the feeling of being bored.
I get 'agitated' times too, when nothing I could is what I want to do. It's very frustrating, I agree. My best solution is to go outside and make a note of what gardening needs doing - there's always something - even if I then do nothing! This is majorly why I keep a, 'day book' - even small tasks (e.g. dusting the TV stand, putting away laundry, sock darning], so I always have something I can do. When I look back at the end of the day, it is heartening to see a number of ticked-off items.
I too find it hard to understand people having, 'no time to sit down,' as if this is some kind of virtue. Perhaps it's simply being disorganised, which can easily lead to worry. Time spent worrying is really draining.
So many people talk about not having time to sit down etc, I just don't understand how they have so much to do.
me too!
Maybe it's because of autism we tend to stick to the same things then when it's over we have nothing left to do? or it's just some people do too much than they probably should do?
Ironically, I came on here because I was bored. It varies, sometimes reading, watching TV, doing some puzzles etc helps. Other times I cannot find anything that will shift the feeling of being bored. Its something I struggle with. So many people talk about not having time to sit down etc, I just don't understand how they have so much to do.
Sounds like a good craft! Plus you get to eat the snacks as your doing it
