Yeah if you're enjoying the series, maybe just enjoy it first! The book isn't like a normal fiction, it reads more like a history at first, so in a way it's getting those stories out to a wider audience. The is so many wonderful stories in it.
I never knew that!
might try the book at some point, but I think I'll stick to the series for moment
I've watched the tunes of power with my brother, Which is set before the lord of the rings and even before the rings were made!
That series(Rings of Power) is based on the Silmarilian, Tolkien's epic life work he started long before Lord of the Rings, and never actually finished (his son Christopher finished it off and it was published post-humously).
Though they changed so much I couldn't watch it, but if you don't know the book I think you would enjoy it better. There is a lot of history in it for them to do a lot with, so they'll probably keep it going a while.
Yeah, Tails is awesome. I always liked him in the Sonic X show.
Shadow was always my favourite character

I used to always want to be the bunny character in sonic (tails I think her name was)! I just found her really cute to look at!!
I have, yes. The Hobbit is good, but I prefer The Lord of the Rings, to be honest.
I love all the Star Wars movies, the episodes I mean, Everything after episode 9, I didn't really like.
That's awesome, I used to have Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog on the Xbox
lord of the rings is good and the hobbit trilogy!
I've seen some Star Wars movies (can't say I've seen all, and I can't really remember which I've seen!)
I used to play Sonic the Hedgehog on pc (think I saw the first movie)

Some of my favourites are
24 Hour Party people

I love world cinema
Same here too.
I have enjoyed many World cinema movies available on DVD (I look for used ones in charity shops and on eBay) - particularly, within the back catalogue of "Artificial Eye" (Artificial Eye, established in 1976 and now under Curzon (since 2006) in case you wondered why you had not seen so many "Artificial Eye" offerings for a while). In April 2024 the Curzon CEO announced:
"Curzon CEO Edward Fletcher said;
"With Curzon celebrating its 90th year, it feels fitting to see the return of Artificial Eye, a much-loved label with a rich history and global reputation amongst cinephiles. At Curzon, we have witnessed exciting growth in young audiences seeking out classic and repertory cinema, and Artificial Eye has a deeply felt heritage value within that story. It feels like the perfect moment to bring the beloved label back."
Therefore, the happy hunt resumes - it should be possible to access new titles too (now under the Curzon brand).

A film I am looking forward to viewing next weekend is: "My Favourite Cake", co-written and directed by filmmakers Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha.
As one reviewer so beautifully put it: "A bitter sweet delight, like an Iranian baklava. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 March 2025. I watched this twice at the cinema, so I had to have a copy. The script is magnificent. The acting - exceptional. A wonderful hymn to humanity, down to earth yet deeply observed and presented with such sensitivity and joie de vivre, sweetly funny and bitterly sad, like honey with cardamom. I had to have a second slice and yet another…".
This movie has been nominated for / collected some impressive industry awards e.g.: it won the FIPRESCI Prize and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Golden Bear for Best Film at the festival.
Some cinemas have held popular screenings and it is available on DVD both new and used e.g.:
I have some laurel and hardy boxsets but I don’t have a dvd player any more unfortunately.
Oh and I do like The lord of the Rings too
A cute movie I saw years ago about a pair of old ladies - one of them was the carer for her sister with (learning difficulties- I think it was described as) anyway it was so lovely and uplifting, It’s Belgian and called Pauline et Paulette … I love world cinema and absolutely recommend watching it
I sometimes go through phases where I watch horror movies. They make for a good palette cleanser when I'm tired of what I'm usually watching.
Today I watched the 50's original version of The Fly. Very cheesy, very stereotypical old school horror where you have the woman screaming in terror at the non verbal monster man, but to it's credit, it's much more suspenseful than the 80s remake.
I naturally assumed most autistics were otakus because the majority of other autistics I knew in person were. It's interesting to see how much preferences actually differ
