Would monsters Inc and monsters university count as monster movies? If so I've watched them!

Studio Ghibli films are really good!

I've seen vanity l Nativity but not the second - will have to see if it's on iPlayer or Amazon prime and watch it!

The movies that are considered old are possibly Disney ones I used to watch at a friend's birthday party (Aladdin for example)

Did Sylvia Plath write the bell jar or girl interrupted? (The one that had a film I've seen) 

I have just seen Terence Davies's film Benediction on iPlayer. The camera work and its use of music and poetry is excellent. It claims to be a biographical account of Siegfried Sassoon's life and it seems to get the broad outlines correct. However, it gives a misleading view of his military career and it skates over his late conversion to Catholicism with the result he comes across as troubled to the end of his days whereas family insist he was at peace for the last decade of his life.

My guilty pleasure though is the crummy Christmas movies (but only in the week each side of Xmas, I'm not a masochist!) which we have a bingo game going for as they are often so corny and predictable. The Christmas Consultant (2012) and A Very British Christmas (2019) are probably the only ones I'd watch again at a push. 

Metal Sonic is my favourite character. I find his single mindedness in regards to beat Sonic to be an interesting character trait. 

Sonic Heroes was a big game in my childhood, I still have the PS2 version

Have you seen the 1996 Sonic the Hedgehog OVA? It's got some pretty fun moments and odd dialogue.

"You might know everything I'm going to do, but that's not going to help you since I know everything YOU'RE going to do! STRANGE, ISN'T IT?"

I really hope they reference that particular moment in Sonic 4 considering Metal Sonic is set to debut in it!

I love this selection - great choices! Alien is such a classic - sometimes I accidentally stumble across it on tv and I always get immediately gripped and start watching it again. 

I love LOTR and the Hobbit films, but my youngest son watched them hundreds of times it seemed at one point and I felt by the end of that I didn’t need to see it again!
