Forum display issues – central thread for updates and reports

Hello everyone

We are aware that several discussions about recent forum faults have started across the community. These include:

I’ve created this thread as a central place for everyone to record any other threads that are no longer loading correctly. Most affected threads show only the opening post, with replies hidden. When the page loads, an error message in an orange box appears.

I have locked the three threads listed above so that all updates and reports can be shared here, rather than being spread across multiple discussions. This thread will also be pinned to make it easier to find.

As mentioned previously, the issue is being caused by a BBCode bug. BBCode usually allows simple formatting and links without affecting the underlying page code, and it normally has a failsafe to prevent anything from breaking the page. The bug is preventing that failsafe from working, which is why some posts are hiding replies. A fix is planned for a future service release pack, though we do not yet know when that update will be available.

We can remove the posts that contain the BBCode causing the problem, but this would permanently delete the content. The alternative is to wait for the fix so that no information is lost, although the timeline remains unknown.

Threads we know have issues:

Please add any other affected threads you come across in a reply to this post.

We are sorry for the disruption and understand how frustrating this is for all of you who use the forum. We will keep you informed and hope to get this fixed as soon as possible.

Many thanks

  • We cannot reply to each other on this forum display central thread (to reply in context).

Now that B has diligently flagged also experiencing an issue impacting the "3 Good Things" thread - to my mind, that takes us all into a whole new realm of urgency and importance of resolution priority (even above those of other very popular threads such as the "creative" one.

In my view; the "3 Good Things" thread is a rare oasis forming part of the environment of psychological safety and resilience for many forum members (importantly, including those who may only feel able to lurk at the moment - rather than actively post / reply).

If there are some understood "please avoid" hints and tips ...to act as a protective measure while more permanent resolution is found - we need to understand that "please avoid / keep formatting simple" guidance.

    Thank you.
