Oh no I missed pancake day!

Usually I'd be in work so although I'd have pancakes in the evening, it wouldn't be anything exciting. So I thought I'd take advantage of being off today and just eat pancakes all day.

Growing up, my mum always said we had to start with a savoury one, which was cheese or mince. Then we could have lemon and sugar.

Then when I went to uni, everyone had there own traditions and I was fascinated! I would make pancakes for everyone, and someone needed maple syrup, someone else needed golden syrup, someone wanted fresh lemon (growing up for me, it was just in the bottle). It opened my eyes to trying different toppings.

And my husband grew up not needing to have savoury first, which seemed wild so we adopted that, along with borrowing everyone else's toppings! 

The only thing I haven't adopted is someone I worked with had a tradition of having the best pancake mask (taking a picture while wearing it on their face). 

All day pancakes, that's so cool!

I don't mind trying anything with pancakes!

I forgot too! I'll make some tomorrow - lemon and sugar only.

I eat mine plain. No toppings. No sugar. Just plain.

I like the American style pancakes the fluffy ones with maple syrup but I did see a recipe that had just eggs and smashed up bananas to make a pancake which I’m going to try, plenty of protein. 

I’ve just finished eating mine. 

Thin, straight from the pan, with butter and a little sugar.

I wouldn’t consider them any other way and I don’t remember ever not having them on Pancake Tuesday/Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday.

Ah how gutting. Pancake day is the one food event I can get behind. I made it today's mission to eat pancakes for every meal. I had American style pancakes with butter for breakfast. I had a savoury ham and cheese pancake for a late lunch. I'm going to finish it up with a sweet maple syrup pancake shortly. 

I do like lemon and sugar and chocolate spread but didn't opt for those today. I also love maple syrup and bacon pancakes but having already had ham, I didn't want bacon too.

For someone that is very fussy with food, pancakes are one of the things I can be most flexible with.

I'm not really a fan of pancakes, sweet or savoury, so pan cake day is usually somethin that goes over my head.

My Nan won a pancake race down the middle of the high street and got a "brand new non-stick frying pan" and this was when they first came out.
