Newbie to the board

Hello Wave.

Hope you are all awap.

I'm a newbie to the board, and I thought I would say hi and give some info about myself.

I am 38 from the Isle of Wight. I'm fairly new to the Autistic community, as I only got a diagnosis about just over a decade ago.I also have Fibromyalgia as well, which holds me back quite a lot. My interests are listening to vinyl records, reading and writing poetry, and also watching Football. I have two dogs and a cat that I adore . I joined the message board and community to get more understanding of Autism myself as well. Also I'm here to hopefully maybe make some new friends. Thanks for reading and take care

More from me soon.

  • Oh! Meatloaf Bat Out of Hell II! I should get that one!

My favorite classic rock vinyl I have right now is Kansas Point of Know Return, but my favorite overall albums are FM Attack’s Stellar (synthwave), Supersonic Parachute’s self titled album (soft jazz rock), and Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories (electronic/disco).

  • I love a bit of George Ezra! Did you know he has a form of OCD? He loves going rambling to clear his head. He even made a film of walking from Land's End to John O'Groats, called End To End.

I've got the 3 albums on CD, plus Gold Rush Kid on blue/white/green striped vinyl. I also got a little 3D printed figure of George with this edition! A corking album. I love Manila and Fell In Love At The End Of The World. SunglassesHeartThumbsup

PS: looked at the photo. Queen: a fantastic album. And Alice Cooper - Welcome To My Nightmare is one of his best, at least solo. I preferred AC when they were a band (and apparently Alice has got the old band back together - minus one member who passed away. An album is already recorded and due for release: The Revenge Of Alice Cooper. Interesting!)

  • Hi Darkyellowrock86

Welcome to the community. As a vinyl listener, you share that interest with some others here. I’m afraid I might be in the minority regarding disinterest in football, but we do share our love for dogs.

  • Thanks for the warm welcome. It's nice to be here Grinning .

I will try and post more and get into conversation soon.

I'm limited to how much I can post because of my fibro.

But for now, I wanted to share this picture of my vinyl records and player, for those who are interested.

Most of my vinyl is rock related.

But I also have some soundtracks like the stage play Les Mis and I have two Disney records.

As well in my collection, I have a bit more modern music, like George Ezra and Lenka.

    Take good care Thumbsup

  • Welcome to the community!
I wish you find here friends and support.

  • Hiii & welcome to the community.

I love vinyl too !! I used to collect just CDs but now own more vinyl than CD. I love vinyls, the sound and overall appearance is just so nice. I’ve also got a cool collection of record players, my grandfather used to work in a record shop and he sued to repair the players for people and he still has loads of old stock in his shed in the garden. He gave me my first record player a couple of years ago, it’s from the 60s/70s I think he said and is in an old red suitcase looks amazing! Sounds so neat as well !!

Do you have a fave vinyl you like listening to?

Enjoy the forum, I hope you find it a great place to be and get any help and support you need. There's a lot of really kind and helpful people here.

  • Hi there!

A vinyl lover, eh? Me too. I mostly have CDs as the vinyl is normally out of my price range. I get the fancy schmancy coloured  vinyl albums on my birthday or Christmas, Slowly but surely I'm amassing a collection (including a few I still had stashed away.

Im in my 50s and I'm not diagnosed as of yet, but having a son who is and seeing traits he has mirroring my own past experiences, I feel it's pretty much nailed on.

Anyhow, welcome. Hope you enjoy the community WinkThumbsup
