Ruling the World

What would you do if you suddenly became empress/or of everything? Obviously we'd all stop wars, end world hunger etc etc, but what more personal things would you do?

I'd make us able to walk a mile in another persons shoes, so we'd get to know what it felt like to be NT and of course they would feel ours.

There are more personal things I'd like to be rid of like all members of the turnip family, BBQ's and people stating the bleeding obvious as though it's some sort of massive revelation.

I'd make shoe and clothing manufacturers make clothes and shoes in a wider range of sizes, shapes, colours and styles AND MOST IMPORTANTLY keep seeling jumpers althrough winter, and not just xmas jumpers, I want normal jumpers!

I'd make the internet work properly, like it used to, when you could search for something and actually get results matching your search criteria and not give you air fryers when you want wellingtons, stuff like that.

  • Absolute power corrupts absolutely, as we have learned the hard way during Covid, even if a country was ruled by a committee of elite military officers or in some of the other formats of communism in the Soviet era or in CCP China - the “ruling dynasty” of the North Korean regime also has its own problems where the leader had his own brother tracked down and murdered abroad, communist Russia aside and involving espionage, even the terrible things going on in CCP China in our times are nothing compared to the North Korean regime - the common thread running through all of these regimes is corruption of all kinds at some level, often involving a massive transfer of wealth upwards from the people to the elites, who don’t even abide by the same rules that they impose on their own people - we see similar hypocrisy in supposedly “democratic” regimes, even if they are leftist and/or socialist or marxist in nature, they always feel the need to be “top dog” at the expense of others misery and poverty, as a way of being a player on the world stage in some way, which sadly even includes those in religious-based regimes of which they are leaders

  • deligate and add checks on my own power ... no one person shoud have that much power. The more power is centralised away from the people the more 'democracy' becomes tyrany by stealth. That's my real answer. ... I will add funnyer answers later

  • Yes I have. I also read On the Beach at a tender age

  • My grandmother began work on a fallout shelter in her backyard in the 1970s but my granddad replied "By the time a bomb drops, I'm going to be at work, you're going to be at work and the kids are going to be at school and by then we'll all be bloody dead". On that subject, have you ever seen the documentary film Threads?

  • I'd make people who litter run a gauntlet where people throw rotten tomatoes at them. I'd also have far tougher sentences for people guilty of serious crime

  • I brought the Family Nativity Crib, over here, while I moved here; three years ago. Though, it did require a new bulb.

People were misled to believe that all our problemns are caused by Organised Religion; when, in reality, it was corrupt Human Authority. It was one of the main objectives of Marx.

  • Get rid of the nukes. MAD is as mad as it was then.

  • What is facebook but a really really big forum though? Where would you draw a line? What about other forum places that support many different categories of supportive forums?

  • This platform is technically a form of social media. Will it be included in your bans.

I also find it ironic that you're complaining about 'snowflakes' but also requiring training on disabilities. A lot of people would consider understandings disabilities 'Wokeness' and that autistic people are just 'snowflakes'

  • Retailers are notorious for this sort of thing at certain times of year and some retailers are far worse than others, given my own 30 years working in supermarket retailing and noticing patterns and trends, not just products that are on sale, but products that are (not) on sale at certain times of year, in an effort to manipulate consumers behaviours, attitudes and even beliefs - one example of this is at Christmas, where it has been virtually impossible over the last 10 years or more to easily buy a Christmas Crib (Nativity Scene) and in the tiny member of mainstream places where it is available for sale, the prices of it are sky-high including in our times, where it is considered non-PC to even mention it or the real meaning of Christmas, that of Christ’s Birth, where displays or decorations totally ignore this central fact - I’m 54 and in my day, totally the opposite would have been the case, even by retailers, who would constantly mention and talk about the real meaning of Christmas at every opportunity

  • I think we're only supposed to want to buy party clothes at this time of year, everything is sparkly and impracticle.

I've had a similar problems with low neck lines, I don't want everything hanging out or on display, not because I'm prudish or anything, I just don't want to look like I'm heading for the beach or a party all the time.

  • Bra shopping is a nightmare and getting tops that cater for a larger bust size than back size, I don't want a top wider than it's long, I want to be decently covered.

I have the opposite issue to you, There are some styles of tops that I just cannot wear because the neckline is cut too low, therefore exposing most of my bra. It's not a good look for a small-breasted woman.

Yes, one would think retailers would have plenty of wellington boots in stock during the winter months, and in a wide variety of sizes. Instead, I have found it to be the case that their stock will consist of footwear that is completely impractical for wearing outdoors in wintry weather, such as strappy sandals with stiletto heels.

  • As an Irish traditional (pre-Vatican II) Catholic Patriot living in the U.K. 23 years as a conservative minded gay man 30 years in supermarket retailing, I agree with you there - yet because people have been so brainwashed and indoctrinated, bad behaviours and social problems of all kinds have crept in and frankly, the only way to deprogram people and correct these is draconian, harsh and severe enforcement of the rules of conduct that we do have, without exceptions nor excuses being accepted with severe and harsh penalties being brought in, starting with corporal punishment in the home by parents (and severe penalties if parents fail to do so) as well as in schools by teachers, by doctors, nurses and by police officers (who should be granted specific legal powers to administer corporal punishment when needed) “bring back the birch and the leather belt” as well as the restoration of capital punishment - many people simply do not know how to behave appropriately in public spaces and they make zero effort to correct and control their misbehaving children in public and frankly, I find this unacceptable behavior very irritating as I get older - in my day, if I behaved like that in public, I would have (quite rightly) been “slapped out of it” because with children (under 21) as a parent, you have to be relentlessly consistent with harsh, severe and firm discipline, which importance cannot be over-emphasised and it is vital that you cannot afford to let up even for a second - children need corporal punishment, as it is the only way that they learn anything of any real value, just look at how elderly people these days are routinely mistreated and abused

  • Bra shopping is a nightmare and getting tops that cater for a larger bust size than back size, I don't want a top wider than it's long, I want to be decently covered.

I've been trying to buy wellingtons for a couple fo weeks now, for some reason shops seem to think that we don't need them in winter. Many wellies are made unisex, womens are sized from 4=7, mens from 8 upwards, being a size 8 I find mens wellies massive, my feet slop about in them, or they're tight at the toes and loose at the heels and flap about lie flip flops, or I can just step out of them. You'd think the obvious thing to do would be to try a size 7, but no, they're way to small, they're not long enough in the foot and are still too narrow, I tried this yesterday and couldn't even get my foot into a size 7 and yet the size 8 was huge.

I don't do grocery shopping online, I'm very particular about what I have, if I asked for veggie sausages and got meat ones instead I'd be really fed up. Also I get most of my shopping in Lidl and they don't do deliveries.

  • I'd make shoe and clothing manufacturers make clothes and shoes in a wider range of sizes, shapes, colours and styles

That would be wonderful. One of my pet peeves is that choice can be be extremely limited when I'm wanting to buy new bras. Not that I was planning on buying anything, but I recently paid a visit to the Agent Provocateur website just to see if they actually catered for my bust size. I found one item.

I'd make the internet work properly, like it used to, when you could search for something and actually get results matching your search criteria and not give you air fryers when you want wellingtons, stuff like that.

In addition to this, I would also stop websites from those doing those marketing adverts that usually say something like, "Based on your previous purchase history, we think you might like this." For example, the purchase history could consist of clothing, but their algorithm seems to think you might like something completely unrelated. Furthermore, I would stop supermarkets from substituting items (for deliveries) with items that are unrelated. If a customer wants a jar of coffee, it is no good substituting it with anything other than coffee.

  • Abolish Car Insurance. Here, in Northern Ireland, you daren't head out without the 'significant other' yapping about how other drivers 'buy and sell ye'. I had to build up my confidence driving by heading places behind my Nan's back; because she would threaten me with emotional blackmail. (as if she was the only one who missed my Dad)

End compulsory education. Schools have become indoctrination camps. Kids are no longer taught vital life skills. They're now viewed as inventory.

Abolish Income Tax. As well as dramatically cut Government spending. And, also, decentralise the Banks. A return to sound, Gold-Based, money.

End Foreign Ownership in UK Football. The shift, across Europe, is towards Fan-Ownership. Plus, stop the Thought Police from banning certain chants.

Cut all diplomatic ties with the EU. They're the ones who destroyed our country. And Govern Ireland through mutual respect between the Pro-Irish and Pro-British; as opposed to 'Winner Takes All'.

Declare Christianity as the National Religion. Men died preserving that Faith.

  • I would totally ban all under 21’s from being allowed anywhere near any forms of technology, including computers, internet, mobile phones (even “brick” phones), games consoles and TV, radio, at all, for any reason, regardless of the circumstances and would ban parents from having any such devices in thier possession in thier family homes where any under 21’s are living and even then, under strict licence and device registration controls with weekly police inspections as well as from the local councils - I would use the law to shape moral values and proper moral standards

  • I wouldn't call a forum social media. I was referring to facebook, twitter, tik tok etc

  • Here is social media, do propose we should get rid of here too, or only the ones you dislike?

  • I think lots of young people would like to work, but for various reasons aren't allowed too. I'm not sure that all work is harder than school, it depends on what you do, you will probably have more protections at work than school for things like bullying and you won't have to put up with so many rules for the sake of having rules.

Can you give some examples of "snowflakery and wokeness in the workplace"?

I would add that people would benefit from better careers advice and the reform of adult education, student loans are a joke and put to much pressure on the parents of university students to cough up. Some parents refuse, they also refuse to take thier young people back in the hoiidays. There are very few ways to fund post grad education, if you go into a phd dept, you will find it's nearly all foreign students, home ones can't afford it. There also needs to be funding for people who are retraining, I wonder how many of us are still doing the job we did when we left school or education? There are to many professions that people want to enter and can't because of lack of funding and those workers are needed. For example, I was talking to my osteopath about the number of people who are not working because of things like sciatica, he reckons he could help about 80% of these people within 2-3 visits. Why are there no NHS osteopaths? Why do people have to suffer and get addicted to pain killers as thats all that allopathic medicne can or will offer?

One of the things that people don't think about with foreign aid, and sadly this includes you too Iain, is that it can help to stop migration. If people have no reason to up root themselves from their country of origin they often won't, but when they lack the basics they will often have little or no choice. I'd like to see much more of our foreign aid budget go into conflict resolution.

If I were being really unreasonable I'd ban sport. I'd at least make a free to air channel for it so as my programs aren't constantly interupted, cancelled and generally mucked up because of it.
