Ruling the World

What would you do if you suddenly became empress/or of everything? Obviously we'd all stop wars, end world hunger etc etc, but what more personal things would you do?

I'd make us able to walk a mile in another persons shoes, so we'd get to know what it felt like to be NT and of course they would feel ours.

There are more personal things I'd like to be rid of like all members of the turnip family, BBQ's and people stating the bleeding obvious as though it's some sort of massive revelation.

I'd make shoe and clothing manufacturers make clothes and shoes in a wider range of sizes, shapes, colours and styles AND MOST IMPORTANTLY keep seeling jumpers althrough winter, and not just xmas jumpers, I want normal jumpers!

I'd make the internet work properly, like it used to, when you could search for something and actually get results matching your search criteria and not give you air fryers when you want wellingtons, stuff like that.

  • I would get rid of social media. I think it has destroyed society

I would teach people how to be self sufficient, back to a time when we knew how to make our own clothes and grow our own food and not be so dependent on the consumer system. I believe these skills should be taught in schools.

I'd stop concreting over the countryside and preserve wildlife and our natural environment

  • Here is social media, do propose we should get rid of here too, or only the ones you dislike?

  • Agree with this, the world would be a far better place.

Just reminded me of my granny. She used to make all her own clothes, for herself and for my mum and her sisters. Every Xmas for years I received a handmade cardigan or hat and scarf from her. She made so much and it was always nice quality, and didn't affect my skin sensitivity too much.

I follow videos online to make my own clothes, I have a vintage sewing box full of so many materials and patterns.

  • This is something that I do agree with - I’d also put an end to putting everything online, which is a huge problem for people in rural communities, many of which still don’t have proper low cost and high speed broadband connections especially the elderly, an especially important thing during Covid - given a real choice, most people would prefer to interact with a real person, not a computer or a machine, as we have been forced to become over-reliant on these, an especially sad and heartbreaking part of Covid - when Covid restrictions and mask mandates were lifted, I was delighted as I hated seeing everyone in masks even more so than wearing a mask myself - living in the U.K., I was desperate to get home to family in Ireland as soon as I could without restrictions or quarantine - during Covid, I was almost conditioned to living at home and living online and I hated it at age 54 now
