I'm back! (just about)

What a nightmare it's been!

Contrary to what the mods are saying, the password reset is NOT  working; I've tried it about 5 times. I e-mailed the community manager about 8 times. 3 times the e-mail just bounced back to me. I thought about giving up and just not using the forum anymore.

I eventually received a temporary password this morning, so I'm using that now, so things still aren't completely working for me; I've got no idea how I'm going to get a proper password. (Anyone got any ideas?) At least I can get in and actually start communicating with people, using the temporary password though.

If there's anyone else out there still trying to get back on to the forum, I hope they manage it soon. Frowning2

  • Welcome back.

The only way that I could sign into my original account was by being e-mailed a temporary password too. I had then promptly changed it back to my original password by resetting my password via my account settings. This was before the moderators had made an announcement telling members to continue using the temporary password until the 'password reset' issue had been fixed.

  • I've tried doing it via settings now. I'm still getting the same error message I got when I tried the 'forgot password' link. I've tried e-mailing the community manager about it twice and the e-mails are bouncing back to me again!

How do I change my password now?

  • How do I change my password now?

I am sorry to read that you're continuing to have issues resetting your password. What does the error message you're getting actually state?

It seems strange that your e-mails to the community manager are bouncing back to you, but I know such things can happen if the recipient's inbox is full, there are server issues, or e-mails exceed message size limitations.

Perhaps try re-sending your e-mail to the Community Manager later today or tomorrow. If it bounces back, then maybe one of us could try sending an e-mail on your behalf.

  • Yay! I tried to reset it again, so I could tell you what the error message says, and it appears to have changed my password OK this time. So hopefully I'm well and truly fully back on the forum now.
