I still have my Dad's collection of Eight-Track Cassettes from the early Seventies.
Any enthusiasts who still use them?
I like vinyl for the experience, and cd's for ease of use.
Well ripping cd to mp3 and listening to those.
I like all of them. Vinyl is probably my fave though, I like the different variations you can get like the different colours, sleeves and covers.
Then again you can get some really cool CDs as well. I own a massive collection of CDs and I like how easy they are, just play and then you're good for the next 40-60 mins.
I'm listening to a vinyl at the moment... Fleetwood Mac.
I never stopped using tape ( I listen to audiobooks a lot)
Vinyl is an all together different experience.
Massive disc huge cover art and when you put a disc on you re committed to at least 30 to 45 min of continuous music with no skipping, or fats forwarding.
I need to be in the mood for that.
But color vinyl is cool.
Techmoan to the rescue ?

This is a very nice simple eight track player, its compact and all in one.

Sadly Eight tracks were never that big in Europe, Techmoans players are almost always imported from Japan or the USA
The RQ 8 is between 80 and 180 pounds on ebay, and even then its still only available from the usa or Japan.
I'd like to have one but with out 8 track tapes of my own thats just a no go for me.
I don't have one but I do have a cassette player as well as vinyl and CD players. I collect all Taylor Swift memorabilia and when she started releasing casters cassette and vinyl I bit the bullet and bought both players.
It's a different sound and a different experience but I do enjoy both.
The only player, on offer on eBay, was a Japanese recorder; for parts only.
No, I know off them And like laserdiscs I think they are cool.
But never had the opportunity to get in to either.
Shame.
