Social skills classes for kids

Hi,

My son is 11 years old and being assessed for autism. He has a small group of friends but still struggles socially. Is there anyone/anywhere in the Bromley and nearby area that can help to teach these skills?

  • I found the app for training social skills to be the most useful. It uses AI to provide customized feedback and is called The Cognity. They have a purple logo. I know their waitlist is currently open. My brother had the most amazing results.

    It would be helpful for your son to learn how other neurotypes communicate but he should not learn social skills as this encourages masking:

  • Many thanks for the replies. Just wanted him to learn skills on how to start conversations, how to react to certain situations, etc. Don't really know exactly what I'm after for him but I’ve read about social skills classes, just nothing in my area.

    They will be easy to pick up and put down as and when he has capacity for it, will be there to refer back to and avoid the social issues of actually attending a class.
