Festive Photos 2023

I have taken inspiration from a Christmas-themed discussion created by .

For those of us who enjoy looking at all things Christmassy, I thought it might be interesting to share our Christmas-themed photos during the run-up to the day itself... as long as the file size of each photo does not exceed 1 Megabyte (1000 Kilobytes). In line with the NAS Community Rules, please avoid sharing any photographs that feature people, otherwise, they are likely to end up being removed by the moderators.

The following photos were taken back in December 2020. The Christmas tree and most of the red decorations had previously belonged to my paternal grandmother. Before she died, it had become a tradition that my parents and I (and sometimes my son) would visit her during the run-up to Christmas, and decorate the tree for her. Therefore, one could say that the tree has sentimental value.

Although the tree is now mine, to do with as I please, I still think of it as my grandmother's tree. The only changes I've made since I acquired the tree, are that I decorate it with a much longer set of coloured lights, and add more baubles, which are all in keeping with my grandmother's original collection.

Oh, and there's also a special tree ornament in memory of my grandmother, which always has pride of place.

  • What a great idea for a thread! I love your pics and the lovely bauble. What a sweet way to remember your Gran. That's a really sweet and lovely thought. We don't have any ornaments for family who have died but we have a special garden where we put the Christmas wreaths, 1 for my sister (she had leukemia) and then for my mums parents.

Here's some pics from last year.

Thank you for making this thread Slight smile
