Has anyone undergone stem cell treatment for autism?
Has anyone undergone stem cell treatment for autism?
Hi Cher,
I know this is an old thread!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this up.
My 4yr old son has just been diagnosed with ASD, I am very interested in hearing any thoughts you have on it, It looks like you have done a lot of research on it, do you think it can work? do you know how much it is in the UK?
Sorry for all the questions
Any advice gratefully received :)
Thank you :)

I appreciate very much the time you took to reply and look through your materials. It means a lot to me. Now I have a lot of reading and studying to do. I know there are people who dedicate their entire lives to research in the field of medicine. That is indeed admirable and worth of a Nobel prize.
I am sure that new and positive discoveries will be made in the near future and that will be because of people who do not give up, have faith and good will.
Kindest regards,
In this day and age, no cure exists, if one did it will be breaking news all over the world, if the trials existed they too would have stories on websites such as this or related things online as far as I know.
Even in 50 years or so, I predict that professor's and doctors will still have no clue as to what caused it or how to cure it. It's not a virus or an organ you are trying to regrow, i'm not an expert but the disorder is imprinted onto your mind and body.
Therapy sessions and other things like that help you to gain confidence and prepare for the future. I was raised in a noisy and alien environment, thus I am left with a memory of my disturbed childhood.
I think there should be more effort helping individuals with Autism and other difficulties than trying to find a 'cure'.

will post more soon that should give you some idea for now ;)
Ok I have found this very late so I am sorry I just can't get you the information you need right now.
I have been doing a lot of research on this and have many many links to share.
What I will say now is this
There are a lot of companys trying to rip people off but they are doing stem cell work for autisum treatment and it is looking promising
I have a lot of info for you all to look at and will find all the links and put them up its just very late now. you could start by looking up Sir John Gurdon
Only problem is you may need some one to translate a lot of what he says its very complicated if you don't have a good idea neuroscience ect but he is one of the leading people in this work and young
most of the work is being done in China and they are doing fantastic I am still studying it as we speak and am finding out now things every day...
Do ( NOT ) BE SUCKED INTO THE ÂŁ20,000 con men that say they and work miricals because its total rubbish but this could be the one thing that could make a difference to many peoples lives
I think It boils down to money and making sure they have it all ironed out before they make it public and I think they need more time to get it approved over here to make sure its safe... BUT IT LOOKS PROMISING ;)
Will pop back with many more links soon promise
The longest I think it could take is 10 years but the research and work going into this is also running at an alarming rate in China so may not take any where near that long..they want to find the cause before just dishing out treatment to make sure its righ..
But I still have a lot to reaserch and may find more good news as I go so hang tight this is not a quick fix by any streach there will still need to be a lot of work done to help the child catch up even if it works... but at least now there is way more hope than what the doctores are telling us ;) hang in there your doing a great job and things never stay the same life is always changing remember that nothing ever stays the same for long ;)
Hope said:Autism cannot be cured, your GP is correct.
My interest in not in negative opinions "Hope". I am merely looking for aditional information with regards to costs and ways to try and save my son from a world that was not meant to be his. Stem cells DO WORK in autism. I am a parent who strongly believes that.
I know there are families who've been through that and made it. Try and tell them that.
Respecfully
Good evening,
I have read your posts and can say that I am looking for information with regards to stem cell treatment for quite some time now. I've even mentioned it to my GP, but he was quite sure of himself that autism cannot be cured. Very reluctant to discuss anything.
I do not know what to do, who to talk to, as I am in the same situation as many other parents. I am a single mother of two boys, one of which has been diagnosed with atypical autism, GDD (Global Developmental Delay), ADHD and ODD. My child was a normal child up to the age of 2 years old. The MMR vaccination changed his and our lives completely. He's made some progress since he's started school (he'll be Y2 in september), however I feel that he has a real chance for a good future with a proper treatment and that would be a stem cell one. I can imagine it would be a very expensive one, however there are many families outhere (especially in America) who are doing this and am hearing a lot of success stories.
I would be interested in finding out more details about your case, if you would consider helping me with some information with regards to possible costs and ways to obtain help for it.
Thank you and God bless.

its only money that is holding kids back by the looks of things I found this on the net
Here is a demonstration of the problem of using the word AUTISM. It is similar to going to the doctors and being told you are ill, well yes you are ill but that is not really very helpful.
AUTISM covers such a huge spectrum we cannot be specific when talking. When you talk about a CURE for Autism we are usually talking about IMPROVING not curing the individual. At the moment we are all hearing about BREAKTHROUGHS curing Autism, but these only apply to a small percentage in each case and often only HELP not cure, again this demonstrates the need for sub categories in the diagnosis process.
If we look at everyone diagnosed with and ASD as being an INDIVUAL, we then look how to help each individual and determine what help they need. I am seeing far to often at the moment blanket methods being applied to all children with ASD, yes it works with some but only some.
Research is being done to help lots of people with an ASD, and I feel it is important to understand a lot of this does help, but only when applied to the right child. After all you wouldn't give medicine for one condition to a patent if the patent has a completely different condition.

Why can't you accept your child for who he is? As far as I aware, autism as yet can't be cured, and in any event, why would you want it cured? It is not a disease, but a difference. I understand totally how hard it can be for parents to live with, but curing it is not the solution.
betyflinstone said:yes. there is.
No. There isn't.
Or at least not yet.
From what I can tell there's a bunch of people in various places doing some trials.
Mostly to see if people that take their kids to places like India and China are wasting their money or not.
My advice, betyflintstone, would be to wait for something like this to go through all the normal peer-review systems.
Unless you want your son to be used as a guinea pig.
yes. there is. my son is four and diagnosed with ASD. We are planning stem cell treatment therapy form him later this year. I have been doing some research in tha last four months. It seems very promissing. I am trying to get in touch with someone who went throuht that.
