Need help making friends

I am an 18 year old boy with autism and ever since I have left high school I haven't had a friend that lives close to me, can I have some advice on how to change that?

    I have the problem of being able to make friends but those friends not reciprocating in the effort of asking me to hangout and it's always on me to initiate which in the end I end up hating. Then I drop the friendship like a cold stone.
