New here

Hello, like others on here I have a late diagnosis of high functioning autism. I was masking the behaviours of my older brother throughout my childhood. I played football even though I wasn't very chatty. I graduated with a maths degree from University.

Now I work and have a family. My doctor has been reluctant to give me an autism test as I've led a fairly normal life. So I went private and yes it came back as I was on the spectrum. Do you think it is worth me telling the doctors, or will it just be more hassle? Thanks for your opinions.

  • Welcome Slight smileIt’s worth telling the doctor in my opinion - they may or may not accept it as some NHS doctors (assuming you are in the UK) don’t accept the work of private practitioners - but it’s useful for them to have as much information on you as possible.
